Kruger Park – Brief Update on the Current Situation
The heavy rainfall of recent weeks has led to unusually high water levels in parts of the Greater Kruger area. This has affected some lodges as well as certain roads and tracks in the surrounding reserves.
To ensure you can continue to advise your clients accurately, we have compiled a brief update on the current situation at our partner properties below.
Royal Ingwe River Lodge – Current Operating Status
Due to flooding, Royal Ingwe River Lodge is currently only available on a limited booking basis until approximately the end of May.
At present, a maximum of three rooms are available for individual bookings:
two rooms within the Villa
one freestanding lodge room
Alternatively, the Cambridge House, offering a total of four rooms, can be booked exclusively. This option is ideal for families or small groups seeking additional privacy.
During the renovation period, Cambridge House serves as the central hub, including the lounge, restaurant, bar, and pool.
The main lodge, including the restaurant, main pool, gym, and boma, is currently not in use and is undergoing extensive refurbishment.
Game drives are currently limited, as some roads are still being repaired. While work is already underway, the roads will require additional time to dry fully before normal safari operations can resume.
Seasons in Africa – Current Situation
The lodges Leopard Hills and Kings Camp, including Waterbuck Private Camp, have not been affected by the flooding and remain fully operational and bookable.
However, safari activities may also be slightly restricted over the coming weeks, as damaged roads are being repaired and ground conditions continue to stabilise.
