After a long drought fire raged on the Garden Route on 7th June 2017. The fire in Knysna was the largest and most destructive fire ever in a built up area in the Western Cape, and has left thousands of residents displaced. Unfortunately the Knysna Hollow Hotel was also almost completely destroyed by the fire. Fortunately no-one got harmed, the hotel was insured and Seasons In Africa already started with the reconstruction and the re-opening is planned for 31 October 2018 .
The Hotel will reduce the number of rooms from 87 to only 42 rooms in the 4 * and 4 *+ segments, with focus on FIT-travelers. The reopening is planned for 31.October 2018.
