O&L Leisure is involved in the consistent adaptation of Chobe Water Villas to be more ecologically friendly. To reduce CO2-emissions and under the slogan “Naturally today for tomorrow”, it was decided to partner up with O&L Energy to invest in a state-of-the-art solar park and storage system.
Chobe Water Villas is located in the far north-eastern corner of Namibia’s on the banks of the Chobe River. The area around the lodge is prone to yearly flooding and hence infrastructure like roads and power lines to the lodge are non-existent. To provide the guests with a luxury experience, an uninterrupted electricity supply to operate Chobe Water Villas is a definite requirement.
By investing in renewable energy sources through O&L Energy, the group recently completed the development, financing and installation of a photovoltaic and storage system at the lodge. This innovative solar power and battery system will consequentially alleviate the total energy use at Chobe Water Villas. As a result, the lodge will become self-sufficient and eco-friendly.
