We will travel again in 2021

Dear trade partners and friends,

with best wishes for a better year 2021 we quickly want to say hi to you, that we are still around in good spirit and so are our partners, who are all ready for the restart in international tourism.

As a reminder, we proudly represent in Central Europe:

Seasons In Africa
O&L Leisure Hotels & Lodges
Mateya Safari Lodge
Konkamoya Lodge
Rare Earth Retreats
Natural Selection
Wellworth Collection

The current situation is still difficult for travelers and travel agents alike, with travel restrictions, mandatory testings, quarantines etc., but with the approved vaccines we will all be able to travel again much easier in 2021 which should give us hope and new motivation.

Almost all hotels and lodges of our partners have reopened with strict hygienic protocols in place, well trained and highly motivated staff, inclusive of automatic social distancing in small lodges in remote areas, and boutique hotels which are mainly far off the touristic crowds. And for those travelers who want to be completely for themselves, most of our partners offer exclusive use of their lodges or family villas and also private aircraft and helicopters for charters. Ask us for details.

In general all our partners have amended their t&c’s very obliging and flexible for 2021, with full refunds for any covid related cancelations, also at short notice even up to the day of arrival (please ask for the individual t&c’s of each company). Additionally very attractive specials and lodge combos are in place until the end of the year, which we gladly send to you upon request or you can look them up on our or our partners’ websites. Otherwise if you need any assistance or have questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

All staff of our partners’ properties are looking forward to your guests in the future and will welcome with a bright African smile, which you can see in their eyes even if wearing masks for the time it is necessary. For agents are special educational rates available on request, if somebody wants to break away from the Covid hectic and the European winter – we had quite a few tour operator partners in South Africa and Namibia recently who made use of them.

When we are getting back to a (new) normal, we will send out newsletters with product news again, to keep you updated. And as soon as the situation allows, we will meet again personally during visits in your offices or on roadshows and trade fairs, can’t wait to see you again face to face!

With kind regards, please stay strong and be safe

Namibia is travel ready

Good news: Namibia is open without mandatory quarantine and Eurowings, Ethiopian Airlines und Air Namibia are planning to resume flights from Frankfurt from mid-September 👍🏻!

The entry regulations have been changed as follows:
1) After arrival at Windhoek International Airport (a negative CV19 test is required), tourists are free to travel to their first pre-booked destination and participate in all activities. A minimum stay is no longer required!
2) On the 5th day, the travelers need to be tested for Covid 19, despite the already provided negative test upon arrival. All tourists have to provide their whereabouts on the 5th travel day to the Namibian authorities.
3) The tourists must be reachable on day seven to receive the results of the test.

If the result is negative, the tourists are free from any further surveillance.

Now we only need the EU to lift the travel warnings fro Namibia, then international tourism can finally restart ✊🏻. In a country with over twice the size of Germany, with only 2,5 Mio inhabitants and very low infection rates, Namibia surely is one of the safest countries in the world to get away from all the Corona stress in Europe!

#Namibia, #NaturalSelection, #oandlleisure, #namibiatracksandtrails are travel ready 🇳🇦 !

Natural Selection – The Elephant Express

We love a bit of problem solving here at Natural Selection, so we were nothing short of delighted by the launch of the brand new Elephant Express buses in the Okavango Delta panhandle in Botswana. These sparkling (for now at least) buses provide the perfect solution to a problem that had been bothering residents in the area for a while. The panhandle is punctuated by schools, villages and clinics, and it also happens to be a stretch that’s used heavily by elephants. An elephant highway if you will. Unfortunately, having both elephants and the local community use the route has resulted in fatalities, so the buses serve an extremely important purpose. The two buses were launched on 17th January by Natural Selection and other partners in order to safely transport school children who would otherwise have to navigate these dangerous thoroughfares.

Lekkerwater Beach Lodge options going forward

Natural Selection has changed the set up at Lekkerwater Beach Lodge in De Hoop for 2020 and have moved away from a rotating two night stay to scheduled Monday, Wednesday and Friday arrivals. Guests can stay for 2 or 3 nights. A four night stay is tricky and hard to accommodate with limited activities and infrastructure. We will accommodate this on request provided that the guests are aware that there will not be a lot of alternative activities and it really is only for those wanting to chill and have some down time.
