Tawana Camp to open in Moremi Game Reserve in mid 2023

“Tawana” is another exciting addition of the Natural Selection’s premium portfolio. The exclusive camp with 8 spacious luxury tents for a maximum of 16 guests is scheduled to open at the end of July 2023.

It is the first camp to be allowed to open within the Moremi Game Reserve in decades. The camp will be built on the southeast side of Moremi at the edge of the Gomoti River.

Mokuti Etosha Lodge closes for renovations from 22 March 2022

The renowned Mokuti Etosha Lodge of the O&L Leisure Group, located directly at the eastern von Lindequist Gate of Etosha National Park, will close from 22nd March 2022 for estimated 12-15 months, undergoing a full upgrade. The major renovations will include a completely new main building (reception, bars, dining room, kitchen, conference center, including the pool bar and pool area, as well as the main entrance) will be demolished and rebuilt. The current Boma will also be demolished and relocated to a new bush location in a form of a new Sky-Boma. Current rooms will be upgraded, and additional rooms as well as new guest experiences and exciting activities will be added (e.g. conservation center, cultural village, new viewpoints, upgrades to the airstrip etc.)

Due to the ongoing Corona pandemic and lack of demand, O&L Leisure decided to temporarily close Chobe Water Villas and Mokuti Etosha Lodge until 30.9.21 to save costs and ultimately save jobs longterm for the re-start and the future.

“The devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism industry in particular, and the commensurate mitigating measures taken by governments around the world whereby industry revenues collapsed, can be described as worse than the worst-case scenarios anticipated locally and globally”, says Norbert Wurm, Managing Director of O&L Leisure.

Renovations at Strand Hotel Swakopmund from 2.8.21

O&L Leisure Hotels & Lodges are using the unfortunately still low demand for various renovations in their iconic Strand Hotel, situated in prime location on the Swakopmund pier, in 2 phases from August 2nd, 2021. First and foremost, the ventilation, cooling and heating technology in all parts of the hotel will be optimized, all rooms, suites and public areas will receive cosmetic repairs and the Farmhouse Deli Restaurant will receive new floors. Noise disturbance for guests is to be expected only minimally.
